The Forced Mental Fortitude We All Have

Everyone has this superhuman skill, no matter if they work a 9–5 or for themselves.

We all wake up and get to work during the week, but I haven’t thought about it much until recently.

No matter if someone works for a company and wakes up at 8 AM to drive to their nine-to-five job or wakes up at 10 and builds their own business, we all get to work every day of the week.

Much of this mental fortitude that keeps us working a job even when we don’t want to comes from the fact that it earns us a living.

No job, no living to survive off of.

But still, nobody is forcing people to work a job they hate when they can save up enough money to quit temporarily for six months or up to a year and just work on something they genuinely enjoy doing.

It takes dedication to continue pushing through bad days at work and feeling unfulfilled from the work one does.

This mental fortitude is a skill that people should utilize in their lives, not only in their careers but in whatever goals they want to achieve in life.

Most people can’t find the same mental fortitude in keeping a one-week diet or twenty-four-hour digital detox, but they can work at the same job for up to fifteen years despite the level of commitment that it takes.
